Ice Cream, Creativity, and Community!

I left you on a bit of a cliffhanger last week when I mentioned some exciting news. I’m really thrilled to share that I’ll be leading two in-person workshops for pregnant women at Sugar Hill Creamery in Harlem! These workshops will take place March 23rd and 30th.

Having had two kids in NYC, I have often felt really isolated - especially during my first pregnancy when I wasn't a mom yet but I was going through so many changes. It was 2020-2021 so I couldn't build up much of a community (COVID literally meant I couldn't go near any other pregnant women who I saw at the doctor's office). Drawing about the weird things happening to me became the outlet for my anxiety. Now I want to help expecting moms meet each other and nurture their own creativity during this liminal time.

If you know anyone who might benefit from this casual lunchtime workshop (free scoop of ice cream is included with registration!) please share this with them!

If you know an expecting mom who isn't in NYC or would prefer a virtual setting - (I myself ago was largely immobile at the end of my second pregnancy just 2 months ago) - please let me know so I can keep this in mind as I make more plans to support people as they go through this major transition.

Do you have thoughts or suggestions for me as I get ready? Do you have other ideas for how we can use creativity to support different groups that may be feeling anxious or disconnected? Please let me know!
